While there are many professionals contributing in this space with similar objectives/intent, where the astrologer is perhaps different is: he/she uses the participant’s ‘construct’ to address a life situation. How?
When faced with a situation, there are many ways to deal with it – a conversation with yourself, a close friend, a life coach, a counsellor, etc. All these interactions can be very fruitful and potential eye openers. To be fair, to a large extent it would depend on the mindset, the openness, and the honesty of the participant. Moreover, the conversations can be garbled if there are multiple things going on in a person’s life, many a times intertwined, blended with emotions and perceptions.
The horoscope introduces the reality – cyclical and/or structural. It takes the individual to the core, bypassing what one thinks/perceives at that point in time. It is a de-biased way to align oneself with the situation or reality. The astrologer is simply a bridge that bypasses the mental exercise, which anyway the individual is burdened with!
The astrologer relieves the person without having to live through the matter (yet again), by letting charts do the talking and suggest possible alternatives. The space itself can be quite liberating. People who have consulted me have one thing to say in common – that space allows them, equips them, empowers them to deal with any situation.
The idea is not to project that an astrologer is any superior compared to other professionals – No. Each has their own unique space. The approach probably varies. For the astrologer, it is charts. When I was first introduced to charts — financial market charts – someone put it nicely “charts never lie”. Charts present as is.
